The Palm Springs, Calif., resort closed on Monday after firefighters battled a wildfire in the area of its southernmost beach.
The Palm Springs Fire Department said it had declared the fire under control after a 30-minute battle on the beachfront area around the resort’s main entrance.
It was the fourth fire to threaten Palm Springs in the past week.
The fire forced a number of evacuation orders for the nearby town of Dollywood, which is home to the beach resort.
Residents were told to be careful of the beach, but were allowed to return to the area, the fire department said.
